Bromölla Kommun

Welcome!

Bromölla

- close to nature, on the shores of Lake Ivösjön

History lives on in Bromölla, between Lake Ivösjön and Hanöbukten Bay, where eight lovely preserved worker’s cottages house a country store museum and an old-fashioned factory-hand’s home.

Nature is never far away and cycling is one way to experience it to the full. If the summer sun gets too hot, you can always freshen up with a dip at one of the bathing sites.

Some interesting sights

The Hops Loop

- Thirty some sights along 55 km
The picturesque route runs past churches and castles that recall the long history of this part of Sweden. Discover what hop growing once meant for these parts at the Humletorkan oats-house in Näsum. This trip is also suitable for cyclists.

Iföverkens Industrial museum
The museum displays the 100-year development of the Ifö company, maker of sanitary-ware, stoppers and isolators.

Canoeing
Explore Lake Ivösjön by canoe and enjoy a great stay in the countryside. Discover places which are difficult to reach by car, bicycle or even on foot. Experience the silence of the wilderness without straying too far away from activities, exhibitions and entertainment.

Wetlandi offers experienced-based activities, primarily by hiring out canoes and equipment for exploring Lake Ivösjön.

Fishing
You can also try your luck fishing in the lakes and rivers. Fishermen get up to all sorts of tricks in their hunt for the great pike in Lake Ivösjön or the migrating whitefish in the River Skräbeån. Each September enthusiasts congregate here for the annual Pike Festival.

Cinema
The town’s cinema is one of the best in Sweden, with first-class sound and picture quality that adds extra sparkle to every screening.

The fountain
While the fountain in the main square (one of the world’s largest ceramics sculptures) reminds us of the plesiosaurs that lived here more than 60 million years ago.
